Conflict Management

ConstructSim Planner reports conflicts when two users make inconsistent changes and attempt to save the changes to the server.

Supported conflicts relate to editing, renaming or deleting:

work packages
tasks
steel hanglist
lookahead planner
bookmarks and bookmark folders
boundary
user-defined groups and user-defined group folders

Other reported conflicts:

tasks in multiple work packages
component in two work packages of the same type
duplicate titles
duplicate bookmark movement
duplicate user-defined group movement
Correct hanglist ordering
Repair tree structure for user-defined groups and bookmarks

The tools to find, view and resolve these conflicts are found on the Synchronization toolbox, which opens from the ConstructSim Planner pane of the Tasks dialog. You can also select these tools from ConstructSim > Synchronization.

Changes made to the work package through the ConstructSim Work Package Server are downloaded to ConstructSim Planner when the Download Changes tool is selected.

When a conflict is found, the Synchronization Information dialog opens. Conflicts need to be resolved before the data can be uploaded to the server.

Some conflicts are automatically resolved. An example of this would be if a user moves a file to a directory that is already removed.
